Fayetteville is city located in Cumberland Co, NC, which is also the home to Fort Bragg Army Base & Pope Air Force Base. During the Vietnam Conflict, Fayetteville, NC, was dubbed "Fayettenam" because of its close proximity to Ft. Bragg & Pope Air Base. The nickname has stuck.
