Particularly Dangerous Situation - used when a severe weather watch, particularly, a Tornado Watch, is issued. A PDS Tornado Watch means that there is a guarantee of tornadoes in every county under such a watch. A PDS Thunderstorm Watch means that either hail or damaging winds are a certainty in the counties affected. A PDS Flood Watch means that more than 12 inches of rain is possible.
