Siria (en árabe: سوريا Sūriyā), u oficialmente, la República Árabe Siria4 (الجمهوريّة العربيّة السّوريّة Al-Jumhūriyya al-`Arabiyya as-Sūriyya), es un país del Oriente Medio,5 en la orilla oriental del mar Mediterráneo,6 que comparte fronteras con Turquía por el norte, Iraq por el este, Israel y Jordania al sur, y Líbano por el oeste.7
