While many think of “sports law” as athlete representation or the occasional labor dispute, the actual practice area is much more inclusive and incorporates many diverse areas of the law. At its most basic level, "sports law" is more accurately described as "sports and the law" and is simply a legal matter that is somehow related to sports (e.g., plaintiff/defendant, subject matter, etc.).
