Zulia State (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈθulja] or [ˈsulja]) is located northwest of Venezuela, around Maracaibo Lake. The state capital is Maracaibo. In 2007 it had an estimated population of 3,620,200, giving it the largest population among Venezuela's states. It is located in the northwestern part of the country. It is also one of the few states in Venezuela where voseo is widely used.
